Wedding Photography in Toronto ? 5 Questions You Must Ask Before Choosing

A wedding is one of the most special days in a young couple’s lives. The bride has probably dreamed of this moment her entire life, and has probably started planning and preparing for this wedding as soon as the relationship became serious. With long hours of preparation, stress, and running around, the expected outcome of the wedding is grand. It’s the day she will remember forever. This is why it’s so important to record it and find the best wedding photography in Toronto to help her capture the memories and show off this beautiful day.

There are several things you need to consider when choosing a wedding photographer in Toronto. There are many Toronto wedding photographers, and knowing the right questions to ask is important in choosing the right one. Below are 5 questions you shouldn’t skip out on:

How many years experience? This is a very important question because the photographer’s experience will reflect in the final pictures. You want a photographer with plenty of experience. This means actual experience as a wedding photographer, and the size of the weddings they have shot for. Though you can never be sure they are telling the whole truth, the rest of the questions may help to clarify.
What is the style of the photographer’s technique? This is very important because you want someone to match the style that you want out of your wedding pictures. There are many different styles, such as classic style, modern, relaxed, creative, artistic and so much more. Ask the photographer to explain and describe their photography style to you.
Will they be the person taking all the pictures? It’s important that you meet the actual photographer, not their secretary. You want to make sure that you get a good feeling from them, and that you enjoy their presence, as they will be around you your entire wedding. Also, ask to meet their assistants as well, as they will be right there with the photographer as well.
What kind of equipment will the photographer be using and bringing with him? This is very important, you want a professionally equipped photographer. Ask what kind of extra equipment he will be bringing aside from their camera, such as tripod, lighting, and other necessities. It’s good to have the extra equipment as they will help make your pictures better, but also, how will they affect your wedding and will they be in the way.
Can you see examples of their work and reviews or references? You want to look through other wedding photo albums that they have done in the past. This way you will get a better idea of the photographer’s shooting style and the way he works.

Your wedding is a very special day, and you should have the best wedding photography in Toronto to help you document and record it. There are many Toronto wedding photographers that offer various wedding photography packages so you want to carefully review each one to make sure that you are getting not only the best deal but the best wedding photography in Toronto. Another important thing to consider is if they also have a wedding videographer in Toronto as well, so you don’t have to work with different studios. Choose your wedding photographer well and you will have a wonderful time at your wedding and enjoy the pictures which you will proudly show off for years to come.

Choosing Wedding Accessories

When shopping for the wedding dress many brides neglect the accessories. Don?t let this happen to you. Wedding accessories are important to complete the bridal look. If you do not purchase wedding accessories the gown would look bare and the look would be incomplete. This article details some of the essential wedding accessories.

The Wedding Veil

All brides need to decide whether or not to use a wedding veil. A wedding veil is traditional, so if you are planning a traditional wedding you should include the veil in the bridal accessories. When picking out the wedding veil make sure you choose one which fits in with the theme of your wedding and goes well with the wedding gown. Remember that there are many styles and lengths in wedding veils today and you will have many options to choose from. You should try on several veils in different lengths and styles while wearing your dress before making the final decision.

Shoes and stockings

You will need to find wedding shoes and stockings to wear with the dress. Shoes and stockings should be tried on with the dress to see how they all look together. Usually brides choose shoes that are made of materials such as velvet, satin and silk as they are materials best suited for formal events. You could even have embellishments on your shoes such as beads, sequins, pearls of crystals. When choosing shoes and stockings you should make sure that they are comfortable as you need to wear them all day long. When you look back at your wedding you do not want your first thought to be that you feet hurt all day long.

Jewelry

The wedding bands and the wedding rings are the most important jewelry in your wedding. However, these are not the only pieces you will be wearing. You can choose a few other pieces to wear such as necklaces, bracelets and earrings. You want to choose jewelry that is nice and adds to the whole ensemble, but not jewelry that steals the show. The wedding gown is the most important piece of clothing you are wearing, so the jewelry you choose should complement the dress. Diamonds and pearls are commonly found in wedding jewelry. If you have any family heirlooms that will go well with your dress you may want to choose to wear them, they usually work out as an ideal heirloom ? a piece of jewelry which is beautiful and which has sentimental value.

Headpieces

Headpieces can be a nice touch to the rest of your outfit. Headpieces include combs, headbands, back pieces, and tiaras. Head pieces are usually decorated with crystals, pearls, beads of flowers. A beautiful headpiece can help hold the veil in place and complete the look or you can choose you use the headpiece, like a tiara, by itself and eliminate using a veil at all.

Gloves

Many brides enjoy wearing gloves. There is something so elegant about a pair of beautiful white gloves paired with a wedding dress. Gloves look especially right with a strapless gown. In general, the shorter the sleeves the longer the gloves should be.

Handbags

Even though you do not carry a bad with you down the aisle or even at the reception it is still nice to have a small purse of handbag available with anything you may need. Typically a small purse is packed with things a bride may need to touch up her look such as makeup, colonge and a small sewing kit for emergencies. It does not have to be large; it can be a small clutch.

Choosing Wedding Invitations

When your wedding guests receive your invitation it is the first glimpse they have into what your wedding will be like. Choosing your invitation in important as it is a window into your wedding. Invitations can be simple, elaborate, elegant, trendy, modern, colorful, romantic or formal just as weddings can be. Your invitation should show the guests just what they can expect on your wedding day. Remember a wedding invitation will also serve as a keepsake to many, when they look at your invitation in the years to come they will remember your wedding and the invitation should match their memories.

Now that you are thinking about your wedding theme and colors while you shop, the next thing you need to consider is the prices of the stationery and how much your budget allows. By the time you are ready to choose invitations you should pretty much understand your budget and how much money you have to devote to wedding stationery. The range of money you could spend on wedding stationery is large. Therefore you need to know going in what you can spend now. When looking at prices make sure you note the differences between invitations sold alone (with no inserts) and ones that include matching inserts and extras such as driving directions, reception cards, meal choices selections and thank you cards. Your guests will need to know where they are going and when and you will need to thank everyone after the big day. Keep all this in mind when making your choices.

Next you need to think about the style of the wedding invitation. Again the style of the invitation should match the type of wedding you are having. This is especially important if your wedding is either formal or light, or a grand wedding versus a simple wedding. You wouldn’t want simple wedding invitations for a grand wedding event or overly formal invitations for a lighter wedding. Besides matching your stationery style up to the theme of the day you should also pay attention to the colors in your wedding.

The other question with regards to style you want to answer is whether your wedding will be traditional or modern. If your wedding fits into either type you may want your stationery to match. If you are going to have a traditional wedding you would want to use invitations which are light in color, usually whites and cream colored only. The invitations would have test but that is all, no graphics or pictures would be present. On the other hand if you think you a planning a more modern wedding the invitation colors are pretty much endless. It is not unheard of these days to have wedding invitations which are green, red or even black. Modern wedding invitations may use graphics and pictures, even though it is not necessary.

Now that you know what type of invitation you want you need to find a supplier. The common supplier would be a printer or stationery company local to the area you live in. Of course there is nothing wrong with this if your area has a good supplier available. If you have one in our area you can go in and see samples, find out the type of paper they use and see the finished products they have to display. If you choose not to use them or do not have any suitable suppliers in your area there is always mail order and internet stationery stores that you can use. Internet and mail order stores will usually have a full colored catalog for you to look through to choose the style you want. Many suppliers will give your helpful suggestions of choice of word, stationery etiquette and when to send out the invitations. Choose the correct supplier by finding the right invitation for you at a cost that you can live with.

Choosing the Right Wedding Favour

Wedding favours are a very popular feature of weddings and a much loved tradition. Choosing the right one for your wedding can be difficult and a daunting task especially if you are working to a budget, probably one which is already well stretched!

When trying to decide what favours to have, don’t rush, there is time if you plan ahead and it should be a fun thing to do. Here we have some great tips for you.

Colours and Themes

The obvious question to ask is whether you have a specific colour scheme for your wedding or a theme. If you have a specific scheme, you can pick your favours that compliment your theme and brings everything together.

Mood

The type of favour you decide upon may also depend on how formal or casual your wedding is. A less formal favour may have something more personalised and home-made than one that is more formal.

Budget

The budget can play a big part of the decision making process. Weddings cost enough as it is and favours just add to it. Favours need not be expensive if you are on a budget. You can easily make your own favours or rather than buying ready-made favours, you can buy yourself DIY favour boxes. This saves money though you have to assemble the favours yourself. This is a great way to make savings.

Bride & Groom

Think about the bride and groom and what their interests are, how they met etc. With these aspects in mind, you can come up with an idea that reflect these personalities and bring them out in the favours that you give. An example is a friend’s wedding. This couple kept chickens in their garden and for their favours, the bride made her own little chicken-looking embroidery paperweights. They were really cool and a very nice personal touch. The only investment was some fabric and time to put it together.

Use your imagination and you can come up with some great wedding favour ideas without breaking the bank.

Choosing your Perfect Wedding Colours

Choosing your wedding colours is one of the first decisions you will make when planning your wedding. You will need to choose your colours before you decide on your bridesmaid dresses or even talk to your wedding florist. Making a final decision on colours can be trickier than you first thought. It is a crucial to get the right combination of colours to help create the best setting and overall tone of your wedding day. Here are a few tips to help you decide:

1: Choose your favourite colour: This may seem a simple and obvious choice, and some brides can solve the dilemma of wedding colours quickly if they have had a life long love of a particular colour. Choose your favourite colour and select complimentary tones to create a magnificent look throughout your day.

2: Choose by Season: Planning your wedding in Season produces a wonderfully co-ordinated look to your reception. If you are getting married in Spring, think, bright but muted pastels, lemons and pale greens with an injection of bold pink or orange works perfectly. In Summer you can choose even bolder, vibrant colours. Autumn introduces more orange tones, gold and browns. If your wedding is in Winter you can go with two very different colour palettes. Pale ice blues and whites create an amazing winter wonderland feel whereas rich reds, green and gold fit a classic Christmastime theme to perfection.

3: Consider your Venue: Look around your wedding venue and take note of the colours of the interiors. This way you can ensure you do not choose colours that clash instead of compliment. Try to pick up on a colour that is used on the walls, carpets or even curtains and tie your colours in with this.

4: Make a Mood Board: Once you have created a short list of your possible wedding colours, collect images from magazines, photographs etc of various wedding accessories in these colours. Have a picture of your ideal wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, flowers, wedding favours and table centrepieces‘, put them all together on a mood board and you will be able to see the overall look. This is a great way to ensure you have your perfect colour palette.

Once you have chosen your ideal wedding colours, the finer details will fall into place. You can begin to look for bridesmaid dresses in that colour, talk to your florist about putting together your beautiful bouquet and even pick your wedding favours. Choosing your wedding colours can be a journey however when you have finalised your palette, putting your own personal wedding style into place is a pleasure and a true expression of you both.

Choosing a Favor to Compliment your Wedding Theme

Your wedding guests will come from far and near to be with you on your special day.  Show them just how much they mean to you with some carefully selected wedding favors! Or maybe your job is to orchestrate and host the bridal shower, and you need some ideas for party favors.  All it takes is a vision and little creativity and you’ll have the perfectly coordinated favors chosen in no time!

Picking out the favors for your shower or wedding is no small decision, but it should be a fun one.  A little research will yield an abundance of resources; it is certain you will have no trouble finding party favors to compliment your wedding theme.

Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

Perhaps your wedding is a beach theme. Lucky you! Think of all the options available for your party favors.  There are an abundance of sea shell favors, from sweetly scented seashell soaps to picture frames, place card holders and candles.  Any of which will forever remind your guests of the fun they had at your wedding!  Or think of how they will appreciate their whimsical flip-flop luggage tag when they are identifying their suitcase at the airport each time they travel.

It could be that you want your guests to have personalized favors to always remember your day by. There is a wealth of options available for you! From monogrammed votive candles to personalized tissue packs, you are sure to find just the right favor to suit your theme.  Or consider a personalized label to go on anything you choose; a packet of seeds, a tin of mints or a sticker to seal a gift box.

If your wedding theme leans more towards a contemporary theme, a calla lily would add a lovely accent to your wedding favors.  A set of frosted glass calla lily coasters would be a beautiful and useful favor for your guests, or maybe a calla lily bookmark would be appreciated.

One popular trend is to have an Asian themed wedding.  Imagine how striking your tables will look when decorated with cherry blossom silk fans for your guests to take home. Or send each guest on their way with a little extra luck when you choose an elephant tea light holder.

If it’s the shower for the bride you are in charge of, think about what makes her unique, and work your theme around that.  If she loves movies, a popcorn box would make a charming and clever container to hold a favor of your choice, like a movie pass or video rental.  Or maybe you know she loves to work in the garden.  Floating butterfly tealights or daisy place card holders for the guests would add a sweet touch to the shower.

Whatever theme you choose, whatever the ambience of your shower or wedding, remember the most important rule in choosing a special favor: have fun with it.  If it comes from the heart, your guests will be touched by your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Choosing The Perfect Wedding Gift

Choosing a wedding gift for a couple may, at first, seem like a pretty simple endeavor. Most of us think we can just run right out on our lunch hour and grab something, have it wrapped, and, voila! – problem solved. But if you’ve ever actually tried to do this, you’ve surely discovered that it’s never, ever that easy! There are several criteria to be met before purchasing a wedding gift, so let’s go over some of them – before you waste another lunch hour!

If Possible, Make It Personal

First off: How well are you acquainted with the couple? Is this wedding gift going to a close, personal friend or a relative who is getting married? If you know someone fairly intimately, then whatever you select needs to reflect that. What do you know about who is getting married that can make your gift to them special, memorable?

Do you happen to know that the soon-to-be bride and groom love to go rock climbing, for instance? If so, then you can make your gift something that rock climbers use – hooks, rappelling lines, backpacks… even books on rock climbing would be good, particularly something like a coffee table book with great photographs that could be displayed in the couple’s living room or den.

Gifts for the Boss

If it’s your boss that’s getting married, it pays to be particularly careful when choosing a wedding gift, for obvious reasons. You don’t want to appear too cheap, nor do you want to spend more than you can afford (who wants a boss to think your salary warrants an extravagant gift?). In this case, it’s important that you know what would please your superior without spending an arm and a leg.

If you’ve worked with him or her for any length of time, then you probably know some of the things they enjoy that are not associated with work. And if you’re really sharp, you know about what his or her betrothed enjoys, too. Go with what you know. If you know the pair enjoys golf, for instance, you might consider getting them something that pertains to that, such as a gift certificate for 18 holes at their favorite club, or something for their home such as a wall hanging or other decorative object with a golfing theme.

Wedding Gifts for People You Don’t Know Very Well

Buying a wedding gift for someone you don’t know very well, but who feels they know YOU well enough to invite to their wedding may be the easiest gift of all to buy. First, find out if and where they have a gift registry. Then it’s a simple matter of adding to their chosen set of china, silverware, or other household items. If the couple has not registered anywhere, then a generic gift of which there are countless choices will suffice nicely.

The point is that you express your generosity of spirit and wish the couple a happy wedding day by sending some sort of appropriate gift. This could include a gift basket filled with imported wine, cheeses, fruit, and other gourmet goodies (perfect for the couple to enjoy from a honeymoon hotel suite!); linens embroidered with the couple’s initials; crystal ware (a lead-crystal vase is always a welcome gift!); or a collection of beautifully rendered, scented candles.

A wedding gift should express your best wishes for the couple, not advertise how much money you do or don’t have. So pick your gift to fit not only the couple, but your budget, as well. And remember: It’s never the price of the gift that should matter, but the sentiment with which it is given.

Choosing Your Wedding Favor

All couples will know that wedding planning is an extremely time consuming job. This is one of the reasons that make wedding planning a difficult task. You may need to spend months to do your researches on your reception location. You may also need to interview 10 photographers before you may your final decision on it. As a matter of fact, it is also true for your wedding favor. You will need to spend a lot of time in order to get the most perfect option.

Some people may think that wedding favors are just something unimportant. However, the fact is that they are the gifts you will give your guests. And this makes it a way to say thank you to your guests. As a result, it is totally wrong to think that they are just something unimportant.

So, the question here is how you should choose your wedding favor. You have always to remember that it should reflect your personality. There is no point to choose a gift which is not reflecting you and your spouse. You need to make it meaningful. One example is that if you love baking very much, you may create some bread or cake yourself. This will certainly make your gifts to your guests perfect since they are reflecting you.

In fact, it is more meaningful to create the wedding favor yourself. Again, this will make it more meaningful. It will be less meaningful if you purchase them. Of course not everyone will have to time to create the wedding favor oneself. As a result, in some cases you may still need to purchase in your local stores. As a matter of fact, these stores will usually sell very elegant products. You may also consider purchasing from some online shops. You can just open your web browser and start your search in Google or Yahoo. It is not difficult to find a perfect gift online!

You should also choose your wedding favor in a way that it matches your wedding theme. This is one of the most important criteria. You will not purchase something which suits only a beach wedding if you are going to hosts a white winter wedding. Take a beach wedding for example, things such as starfish and sea shells will just be perfect. On the contrary, you may choose something in the shape of snowflakes if you are going to host a winter wedding.

You will also need to consider your budget when you are choosing your wedding favor. You have to make sure that it will not be over budget. If you would like to save money, it is always a good idea to create them yourself. It will certainly cost you less money if you can create them yourself. On the other hand, you may also try to see if there are some discount items in your local stores. It is not that difficult to get these discount items. However, you will have to take the time to search for it!

Things to Consider When Choosing the Perfect Wedding Poem

Poetry just has that quality of perfection that can add elegance, romance and warmth to your wedding day. Not just any wedding poem will work though and you may have to ask yourself a few good questions to get to that perfect wedding poem.

What is it for?

A wedding poem can be used in a variety of ways. You can have a wedding poem for example for your invitations, programs, vows and favors. The right wedding poem will depend on what it is used for. You can also have a wedding poem for all the abovementioned items. Having too many poems however may be an over kill.

A wedding poem for an invitation may have to incorporate such details as your names and instructions such as RSVP or formal attire. If you want these in your invitation wedding poem then you may have to hire a writer to do the rhyming for you.

A wedding poem for programs and vows should be easy to read and understand. You do not want your guests to keep on trying to understand your drawl or nudge each other for clues to what you said. Vows are really very personal gems and should be personally written by yourselves instead of a ghostwriter.

What are we like?

Of course no two people are the same but you and your intended must have something in common. Your wedding poem should therefore fit your collective characters. If you grew up with alternative music then you would do well with alternative type free verses rather than the more sappy romantic rhymes. In the first place you should also be clear with each other if you are each comfortable with having a wedding poem. Not everyone is.

What should it say?

Even though you love rock and alternative music, you do not have an excuse to write a wedding poem that screams of cynicism. You are getting married because you love the person, right? Nobody gets married to inflict misery on oneself. Focus on positive messages that will leave you and your guests with good memories of the event.

Do I like free verse or rhyme?

A lot of people seem to think that poetry is all about rhyming verses. You can have that for your wedding poem but you can always go for free verse. Some people find it easier to write more meaningful lines with free verse so do not force yourself if you are not natural with rhymes.

Should I borrow from a famous author?

Famous writers always know best how to express the right words. You may have to think about the issue of attribution though. Nobody, not even a dead poet, would appreciate having his work copied or dissected into little choice pieces. You may however, have one of your friends read or record his poetry reading with music and play it over the sound system as you cut your cake.

Who are my guests?

Some couples simply do not mind what people think of their wedding poem since it is their day after all. Be sure however that you are really comfortable with people’s opinions. If you are a college professor then you might have a whole room of polite literature majors who are only really dissecting your poem in their minds. On the other hand, you may also have guests who really cannot relate with any form of poetry and may end up swapping puzzled “what was that” glances as you read your verses.

Choosing The Perfect Theme For Your Wedding

One of the easiest ways to make a wedding memorable is to have a theme. Themes can be humorous, cultural, seasonal, venue-inspired or downright crazy but one thing they do is make your wedding unique and unforgettable. This is because although themes may be alike, each person’s interpretation of the theme is different.

When choosing a theme, you should consider two things; one is accessibility of resources and the other one is accessibility of materials. Accessibility of resources suggests the cost of implementing a theme. Having a castle wedding would probably require you to rent one and this is very expensive as well as it might require you to have your wedding in another place or country. Accessibility of material is referring to the decorating materials for your theme. A snow wedding in spring will require creating snow which is difficult and costly.

Here are a few examples of wedding themes:
- Seasonal themes – This is based on the four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter. If an autumn wedding is chosen then decor such as maple leaves are used as well as honey and golden colors are used for other decors. Spring wedding would warrant lots of flowers. Sunset wedding also falls into this category as the wedding will be held during sunset especially the exchange of vows.

- Venue-inspired themes. This is the kind of wedding the uses the venue as the theme. Such themes are the beach wedding, castle wedding and garden wedding.

- Cultural themes. Themes based on cultural themes are quite popular too. This is especially true for cross-cultural marriages. It is even more interesting when mixed culture is showcased in these wedding. Examples of cultural themes are Indian wedding, Scottish wedding or Chinese wedding.

- Humorous themes – This is the theme that will bring out fun and humor for the wedding. It could be anything from fancy dress such as the Retro theme, The Seventies, Halloween, Medieval Times and The Wild West.

- Color themes. Color themed wedding can be interesting as it is up to one’s creativity to use the chose color or colors. Themes like Goth or psychedelic are derived from color theme wedding.

- Extreme weddings. Extereme weddings are gaining popularity these days and usually, those who do opt for them will make it in the news. These are the types of weddings that adventurous and outdoor type of couple would go for and examples of them are underwater weddings, bungee-jumping points or mid-air weddings.

The success of any chosen theme greatly depends on the creativity of the couples. You should make the theme come to life by using the right materials to create the accurate atmosphere. You must be willing to improvise to make things happen. For instance, if you can’t paint the walls of the venue, try using disposable wall paper. Be sure to seek permission from owner before you start any alteration.

To choose a wedding theme and to be able to carry it out with conviction is a great task. Therefore, it is always best to have a theme that is personal to you and your spouse. Some ways you can decide on the wedding theme you want is to look at your lifestyles, hobbies and backgrounds. The easiest way to choose wedding themes is from your hobbies – choosing your favorite sport, like golf or soccer, often ends up as a popular theme or your favorite leisure activities, like music or dancing.

Another popular theme wedding is one that is based on your careers. If both you and your spouse are in the financial sector, using a Money theme can be suitable while a Lounge theme is appropriate for couples who are in the media or entertainment industries. Otherwise, go totally different and have a theme wedding that has absolutely nothing to do with your careers.

If it is too difficult to merge two different careers, then pick a common interest – a love for cars, for instance, or a compulsion to travel.

The important thing is choosing wedding themes is that the themes must be meaningful to you. Theme weddings, after all, are an extension of the bridal couple’s lives.

Choosing Every Wedding Cake Accessory

A wedding cake will obviously not be the beauty that it is without every important piece of wedding cake accessory. Each wedding cake accessory should be carefully picked or made with great attention to detail. Each wedding cake accessory should ideally complement your wedding theme. The most common cake accessories include toppers, boxes, servers, charms and sweets.

Cake Topper

Your most important wedding cake accessory would probably be your cake topper. Choose a custom made piece for this wedding cake accessory that will go well with both your theme and your personality. For formal wedding events, you can have an elegant monogram topper. You can also have the traditional bride and groom wedding cake accessory topper or a similar topper style in a different pose for a more romantic and dramatic effect.

Weddings in beaches or informal wedding venues can feature a wedding cake accessory topper that is unusual or humorous. Have figurines dressed in casual clothes and featured in funny scenes or pick animal or fantasy character toppers. You also have the option of picking figurines showing the couple’s special interest. More daring couples can have this wedding cake accessory fashioned after figures that are not typically associated with weddings such as black birds and horror characters.

Cake Boxes

Share the sweet delight of your wedding cake with special cake boxes. Cut a small slice for each guest and place on a wedding cake accessory box wrapped in your bridal colors in tulle and silk ribbons.

Cake Charms and Jewelry

Leave a special memento to each of your bridesmaids with a wedding cake accessory charm. Have each bridesmaid pull the cord of a wedding cake accessory charm to get a glimpse of her fortune. Have them keep and wear their special charms. If you are especially generous, dot your cake with semi-precious stone jewelry or faux jewelry for each of your bridesmaids and some of your female guests to wear.

Cake Cookies and Sweets

Don’t forget the little kids. Add something special for them on your cake too. Sink some cookies and candies on your cake icing and give the kids a box each. Carefully have them assisted by an adult as they harvest the sweet goods around your wedding cake.

Cake Servers

This important wedding cake accessory should be paired with a cake knife. Pick a server and knife made of steel, pewter or silver with stylish handles made of the same material as the blades or made of stylish crystal, glass or plastic.

Pick a serving set that speaks about your personality and that matches your wedding theme. Have sea shells and creatures added to your serving handle for a beach wedding or have a heart shaped server blade for a more romantic effect. For formal events, have your names engraved in gold on plain silver or steel handles. Save this wedding cake accessory set as a memento of your special day.

Choosing the Right Wedding Cake Design

The bride and the groom are of course the center of attention in any wedding. Even so, you would want to have the right decorative touch to make your photo and video souvenirs worth looking at. Part of your wedding design plan is your wedding cake design. The wedding cake design will always be the center of attention at the reception regardless of your cake’s size and shape. The following are some important concerns to think of before picking a wedding cake design.

Complementary Piece

Your wedding, theme, colors, gowns and decorations are all a reflection of your personal taste. You should never forget however, that your wedding cake design is also part of your unified decoration. The color, shape and decorations included in your wedding cake design should also therefore complement your theme. The trick is to plan all the other details of your wedding decorations, dresses and colors before choosing a wedding cake design. This will help you pick a design that will fit the whole picture.

The Ingredients

You may choose to have an experienced baker come up with your wedding cake design. You can also ask your wedding planner to take care of all the cake details or you can take care of the wedding cake design yourself. Whatever option you choose, it is not enough that you look into a portfolio or watch a cake making video. You should also know the different ingredients involved in cake making and how these can affect your whole wedding cake design.

Butter cream for example is the common choice for cake icing. You may however also use white margarine and fondant icing. The latter is a great choice if you want to have a smooth and elegant look. Aside from the wedding cake design however, you should also think about the flavor. Fondant may really look good but butter cream still tastes better. You should also look into the butter cream mix. Too much shortening will make the eating experience a greasy one.

Number of Guests

Your wedding cake design should also depend on the number of guests you have and if you have prepared other deserts. Do you want all your guests to have a piece of the cake? Will you be serving other sweet items to them? You may not need a five tier cake if you are serving other deserts or if you have very few guests. You should however prepare a wedding cake design with multiple tiers if you would like a hundred or more guests to have a piece of your cake.

Time Frame

It will take months to execute a complicated wedding cake design. If you didn’t know this and you only have a short time left, then you should go for a simple wedding cake design.

Budget

The wedding budget is almost always a part of wedding cake design concerns. You can have a great wedding cake design that will not cost much if you simply have sponge cake. You can then spend more on icing and cake decorations. You should also try to compute if you will be able to save on your wedding cake design by serving other deserts and just going for a smaller and simpler cake.

Tips for Choosing the Right Fall Wedding Favors

Autumn is quickly becoming one of the most popular times for weddings, just behind the long-time favorites of June and September. Whether it’s because this is the only time a bride can find an open venue available for rent or if it’s because she loves the colors of fall, the months of October and November are quickly becoming a favorite among wedding planners. But with this new trend comes a few unique challenges; for example, outdoor weddings during the fall are colder and may be more prone to rain. Kids are back in school so some relatives may not be able to travel as easily. And how is a bride to find just the right fall wedding favors for her reception?

Planning an outdoor wedding during the fall may mean having an indoor option just in case the weather takes a turn for the worse, and of course some guests may not enjoy being outside in the chilly weather regardless. If you have relatives that need to travel, you may need to make some arrangements for them to come in after the kids get out of school and for them to go back right after your ceremony. And when it comes to fall wedding favors, you have some options if you’re willing to do a bit of comparison shopping.

Of course, there are many favors you can choose that are not necessarily fall related, if they fit your personality and style. But it may be nice to add a few touches to really make them fit into your autumn wedding. For example, small picture frames make great fall wedding favors if you opt for wood rather than silver. Magnets are also nice, especially if they’re in the shape of leaves. And remember that whatever you choose, autumn colors are going to fit well. If you opt for candles, get them in warm browns and rusty reds. Some brides give away small tote bags, and if they’re in these shades they too can make lovely fall wedding favors. When you choose any of these items, make sure you dress them up by wrapping them in some lovely paper, and again, choose the colors of autumn by selecting earth tones for the paper and the ribbon – shiny bronze rather than silver.

Another great option for fall wedding favors is personalized candy bar wrappers. If you choose the right company, you can find designs that are perfect for autumn, whether they’re piles of leaves or fall sunsets or other landscape designs. These also make great choices because they can be personalized with your name and date as well.

You can of course make your own fall wedding favors by choosing items you can assemble yourself; for instance, many brides use Hershey’s Kisses that they put into tulle or foil bags. You may opt instead for Hershey’s Kisses with Caramel, as the wrappers are a gold color, which fits into a fall-themed wedding. Find bags that are also bronze or that warm russet color that matches both the favors and your wedding’s theme.

Having your wedding in autumn can bring about some particular challenges, but the beauty of the season can make it all worthwhile.

Choosing The Perfect Wedding Theme

Okay. You’ve got the ring, you’ve got time to plan, and you’ve got…no clue where to start. Your mother-in-law is telling you to have a Hollywood themed wedding, and your best friend is telling you to theme it for the beach. All that is well and good, but neither of those ideas is of interest to you. You want a theme that matches your personality, not theirs.

Where do you begin? Well, you could spend a lot of your budget on hiring a wedding planner, who’ll spend all your money for you. Or, you can hit the books and have a look at what’s out there! If you want something more original, and not mainstream, try eliminating what is mainstream. Ask the married women you know what their wedding themes were. Not only can you find out what someone else has done, but you can use it as a way to brainstorm for your wedding. If you really like Shelly’s theme of Water, but also like Anne’s theme of gardens, try combining them! What do you get if you mix Water and Gardening? Tropics, Ponds, Gardens, Ocean, Parks! They are both unique and easy.

If that idea doesn’t appeal to you, just look around you. What kind of decor does your home have? Is it more traditional, or is it more modern? Do you decorate with tiles, or paint? What colors do you like? If your home is more modern, think about what reminds you of “modern”. To me, when I think of modern, I think about what’s in style – Retro! If your home is more traditional, do the same. What reminds me of traditional is the old life. Farms, small towns, rural living, old sporting – Rodeo!

If you’re still reading this, then you probably still need ideas. If your friends didn’t help, and if looking around you didn’t help, maybe mainstream is a good idea. There’s plenty in that idea bank! You can always add your own spin to it. What are mainstream favourites? Seasons. Things like a Spring theme, or a Fall theme. My sister’s wedding was an Ocean themed wedding; and since then, it’s become quite a popular choice. I’ve also heard of many Sunset themed weddings. How do you put your own spin on these popular favourites? Instead of having a spring theme, why not pick a certain flower that you love? Or, instead of Ocean theme, pick a certain beach you like, and hold the wedding there!

Still no ideas? Well, if all else fails, there’s always wedding magazines. Wedding magazines always have fresh, new, and unique ideas. They’re all over the big book stores, and sometimes you can find them in second-hand stores. Who wants to pay full price for a magazine when you can get another one for 1/2 the price? Keep those in mind when you’re doing decor shopping for your wedding as well. Second hand stores can have just what you’re looking for, and are usually a lot less then the brand new stuff.

If you’re fresh out of ideas still, try thinking of colors, and what they remind you of. Red reminds me of cinnamon, of spices, and things like that. Herbs! Orange reminds me of fire. Campfires, bonfires, hula dancing. Hawaii! Green reminds me of mint. Mint is in breath mints, in sweets, and cooking – candy! Think of any color you like, and think of what it reminds you of. You can try this with smells, too! Bread reminds me of bakeries, flowers remind me of gardens. Sooner or later you’re bound to stumble across something you like.

If you want to be more outlandish than all that, why not have a theme based on another country’s traditions? Have a Chinese themed wedding, or a Dutch wedding. Maybe Italian or African. Many of earth’s cultures have unique styles of wedding, and would be fun to plan out. If you cant pick one country or culture, you could always pick your favourite bits from many cultures, and have a mosaic wedding.

If that isn’t enough for you, there are always modern subcultures. There are Goths, hip-hops, rap lovers, sport heads, TV heads, gamers, school kids, and many more. You could have a Gothic wedding or a wedding themed with your favourite video game, or your favourite genre of music. Its a broad world out there, fit with many subcultures just waiting to be picked!

How about copying the set or scene of your favourite TV show or movie? Lord of the Rings has the Shire, Soaps have the almost too-perfect city scene, and 24 has the big city panic. Any of your favourite things to watch have a certain scene, feeling, or set. If you like it, copy it! You’ll be flowing with ideas!

Maybe this is all a little too much for you, and you’d like something a little more basic. Well, how more basic can you get than industrials? Iron, steel, glass, stone, gold, diamond. Those things are easy to find and easy to base a theme around. It gives a strong look, and can be fun to plan with. There’s brushed metal, stained glass, candles, wood, brass, and tons of other things in this category. Go wild!

If even that is too much for you, then there are every day common items that could prove to be a lot of fun. A rainbow, clouds, leaves, chairs, numbers, phones…There’s a whole list of basic, everyday things that could very well be your theme. Just because you see them every day doesn’t mean you can’t make them a unique and successful theme idea!

Well I hope I’ve helped you pick out your theme, and I wish you a happy, successful wedding and marriage! Remember, planning can be fun, but planning with a few extra hands willing to help you makes it a lot more fun, and a lot faster!

5 Tips for Choosing the Best Photographer for Your Wedding Day

Discover how to make your wedding day photography a breeze with these 5 simple tips for choosing the best photographer for your wedding day:

Meet the wedding photographer before you hire her at a local coffee shop or café.  This will provide a relaxed atmosphere for the three of you to get to know each other. A true professional wedding photographer will be more than willing to meet you and your fiancé before your big day to discuss exactly what you’re looking for in your wedding photos.

Request to see previous examples or wedding photo albums from previous weddings the photographer has shot.  (** Beware of “cookie-cutter” albums with the same shots over and over again.  You don’t want the same wedding photo album as every other bride in your city!)

Please leave the wedding photography to a professional for your memory’s sake!  Do not hire a friend who studied photography in school (you remember when she took Intro to Photography freshman year, right?) or your long lost cousin who loves to take pictures (unless she truly is a professional of course!) (**You want your friends and family to enjoy the celebration and not be worried about capturing all of your precious moments.)

Believe me, it makes a HUGE difference in your wedding photos.

If the last bride only has glowing remarks, hire her on the spot!

One final tip, when scheduling your wedding photographer, if you ask she may even include your engagement session as an added bonus!  This could save you an extra wedding expense and give you a glimpse of her photography style.

Choosing From Indian Wedding Photographers

Indian cultural weddings are increasingly becoming a scene in the urban centres of the UK and other countries. Indians hold deep traditions that are highly related to Hindu traditions, although most of their rituals vary widely depending on the Indian hometown of the bride and the groom. In the UK and in other western countries, soon-to-be-married couples are looking at Desi weddings as an option since it gives couples new wedding themes, and it also allows them to explore different ways to express their love for each other. If you are considering alternative wedding themes, you should learn the beauty of Apna weddings. It is best to ask consultants like Indian weddings-photographers on how to successfully complete an Indian wedding.

The Asian Wedding Theme

Weddings are very joyful and bright events. The procession, guests, and everything else are filled with rich colours, and you have to go through a multitude of rituals and celebrations even before the main ceremony. Indian parties can continue for several days, and the parties take place every night. If you want to strictly follow traditional Indian celebration weddings, you need the involvement of your family wedding planner to walk you through the event. Indian (wedding) photographers are recommended, so you can capture every special moment of your wedding.

Unlike Christian weddings where we can choose whom to invite or not, North Indian punjabi weddings are very public, and you can invite as many as 1000 people, and more if you are can afford it. An punjabi wedding is one of the most critical ceremonies in the lives of the Hindus and Sikhs alike. In this ceremony, the bride is given to the husband to be with him for the rest of his life, not only because the bride loves the groom, but also because of the new duty that she is receiving. India weddings also have a lot of great dancing and festive music. The joy of Indian weddings is one of the biggest reasons why many are interested in having an Indian themed wedding. Indian wedding(s) are also a great way to wear different garbs while compelling your guests to wear exotic attire.

Choosing-From-Indian-Wedding-Photographers

Finding an Indian-wedding-photographer is not as hard today as finding one in previous years. However, you should be able to find specific criteria that will help you choose your Indians wedding-photographer. Brides and grooms should remember that a great wedding photographer must be able to present a great portfolio. From the portfolio, you can develop an impression of a photographer’s work, so you can decide if he or she is the one that you need.

Before you can choose from Indian-wedding-photographers and wedding planners, you must draw out what you want from your wedding day. Once you have created your asian wedding idea, you can go down to the specifics. Make a list of the things that you would like to have. Select from different photographer outputs like the number of prints, the type of photo album, and specific photo shots for very important sections. You can also decide if you want to have a base package for online photo journals, so you can share your moments online instantly.

After listing the specifics of the photo output, discuss your preferred style with your photographer. There are wedding photographers that greatly specialise in Indian party weddings, so it is best to find one that is familiar with the styles that will help bring out the joy of an Indian wedding. Classic wedding photography may work for Indian weddings, but you might still find a lot of elements missing if you cannot select from great Indian celebration wedding photographers for your wedding coverage

Experience with asian-weddings or other multicultural weddings is a great plus in selecting a wedding photographer. Different cultures have a wide range of wedding themes, and each theme has a different treatment in terms of finding the balance of rituals and celebrations that are most meaningful to the participants. Punjabi-photo-graphers must know the highs and lows of an fun packed wedding, so they can be at the right place during the right moment. Give your wedding photographer(s) a lot of creative freedom, so their best work can shine through.

Finally, it is important to open the lines of communication with your wedding-s photographer-s. He or she must understand what you want done, so they can work on your instructions and know what their border of creativity is. It takes a special eye to capture our weddings. Thus, make sure that your photographer understands the culture behind the wedding ceremony, so he could key in on the best moments and exploit on that to present a very positive picture of your experience.

Choosing for the Great Wedding Attendants Gifts

Making a list of great wedding gift ideas can be quite tricky and challenging, especially gifts for wedding attendants. Bridesmaids and Groomsmen are wedding attendants who provide crucial support for the bride and the grooms in days leading up to that big day. Therefore, special wedding gifts of appreciation is in order.

Nowadays, these ideas for bridesmaids focus on the woman and her interests or something more personal. Just like with groomsmen present ideas, bridesmaid ones focus on pleasure and fun, such as monogrammed party shirts or some cosmetics bags filled with wonderful products just for her.

Wedding gift ideas for bridesmaids customarily involved jewelry, and this is still a popular option as present ideas for women. Necklaces, earrings, or bracelets can be beautiful at the event as well as be worn at any other time when the happy day has passed. Again, though, many people are leaning towards a more contemporary approach in their marriage gift ideas for women. Some other bridesmaids gift ideas include personalized compact mirrors, picture frames, makeup or shaving kits, jewelry boxes or embroidered jewelry rolls.

In wedding tradition, groomsmen gifts are given to each man during the wedding shower party, and are usually something that the groomsmen could wear at the wedding day such as cufflinks, watches or pocket watches. However nowadays, people are expanding into more unique, useful and functional wedding gift ideas. For example, you can now give pocket knives or flasks. You can even hand each of your men personalized gifts, like pocket watches or cufflinks with engraved initials of your groomsmen.

Wedding ideas for groomsmen can be fun ones, also. You can give poker sets, which give the guys a weekend of cards and friendship, and shot glasses that give a taste of style to their night lives of beer drinking, or some imported fine wines that can be great add-ons to their relaxed style. Beer brewing kits can be good options too.

You may even think about getting non-wedding related ones for the people in your wedding shower party. After all, there are so many gift ideas for your attendants that aren’t only for wedding always and you don’t want your gift to be displayed on a shelf just for special occasions only. In fact, why not give cooler chairs or cooler bags? Or camping gear instead! A ring that shows off the person’s astrological sign can be a nice gift, though you will have to ask about birth dates, ring size, and make sure the men feel comfortable wearing rings.

Giving different wedding present to each of you attendants will always appreciated for as long as they are selected according to each person’s tastes and interests. You can give similar wedding presents as well, and there is no set rules for that. Similar wedding gifts can always turn into personalized and unique wedding gifts for your attendants. You may consider engraved jewelry or embroidered bags for your bridesmaids, and engraved cufflinks and an embroidered gym bag for each of the groomsmen. These are just few personal memento ideas to thank the people who supported you all throughout your important days.
