5 Easy Ways to Save Money When Planning Your Outdoor Wedding

With the summer wedding season fast approaching and many couples looking for ways to cut back on the cost of their nuptials, outdoor weddings are enjoying resurgence in popularity.  Not only does an outdoor event drastically reduce the amount spent on church and reception hall rental, but it also opens up a multitude of other cost cutting opportunities.  With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of five easy ways to save money when planning your outdoor wedding.

1. Choose a month other than June.  June is by far the most popular month for weddings, and with good reason; the weather is usually beautiful.  But June isn’t the only calendar month with nice weather, and by choosing an earlier spring date or a fall date, you can save a lot of money with various vendors.  Many photographers, caterers, and rental suppliers will charge a premium for weddings during the busy month of June, simply because demand is so high.  If the date will work for you and your fiancé, consider an April or October wedding instead.

2. Consider a morning wedding.  Most weddings are held in the afternoon or evening, but there’s no reason you can’t have a wedding in the morning.  Morning weddings are often a great way to cut back on expenses, for several reasons.  First, you can serve breakfast instead of dinner.  This eliminates the need to worry about expensive appetizers and alcoholic beverages.  Generally speaking, breakfast foods are less expensive anyway.  Furthermore, you may be able to negotiate some discounts with your service providers, since morning weddings aren’t that common, and you may also have an easier time booking the providers you want.

3. Choose a low cost outdoor venue like a friend or family member’s backyard.  While it’s true that outdoor weddings are generally less expensive than indoor events, some outdoor venues can be pricey to rent.  For example, if you were hoping for a very popular state park with a scenic overlook, don’t expect it to come cheap.  By holding your event in a smaller or less formal outdoor space, not only can you save a lot of money on the location, but it can also afford you more flexibility with decorating.

4. Plant some flowers!  Assuming you have chosen to hold the wedding in a space where you have some flexibility and control, consider planting some flowers a few months before the event to cut back on the florist’s expense.  Planting flowers is also a great way to ensure that you’ll have exactly the variety of colors and textures you want when your big day arrives.

5. Buy decorations that can be used in your new home after the wedding is over.  Outdoor weddings are often decorated with items that can be reused later in the couple’s new yard.  For example, consider a large wedding arbor or pergola as the backdrop for your photos or the focal point where you’ll recite your vows.  Garden trellises can also make a nice backdrop, as can large urns of flowers or planter boxes.  If you have the ability to set these items in place a month or two in advance, go ahead and do so and plant some climbing flowers and vines like morning glory or nasturtium that will grow up the structures before your event.  When the wedding is over, the items can be used to landscape your new home’s yard, and over the years, they will hold a very special sentimental value to you and your spouse.

These are just a few of many ways you can save money on outdoor wedding planning.  With a little creativity and thinking outside the box, you can plan a beautiful and memorable wedding without breaking the bank.

A Christmas Wedding Could Save You Money

Christmas weddings allow couples to lower their costs and be part of one of the happiest times of the year. Planning a wedding can be one of the most exciting times of ones life. A budget is many times a large factor when planning a wedding; Why not choose Christmas season, to marry the love of your life? It could save you time and money.

Haven taken part in planning a Christmas wedding, I learned many ways to help cut costs and still have a beautiful ceremony. One of the largest expenses of a wedding is decorations. During Christmas season, most venues are already adorned with greenery, wreaths and Christmas trees. While you may want to add some of your own special touches to your venue of choice, it would probably not be necessary.

To help when selecting colors for your beautiful day, in case you have not seen your venue decorated at Christmas time previously, ask your wedding venue to see some of their Christmas decor. If that is not an option, ask if they could tell you the colors they will be using. You would be surprised at those that do not use the typical Christmas color palette. This will help when choosing attire and flower bouquets to be used in the wedding.

Most venues, including churches, restaurants, public parks and personal homes, already decorate for Christmas. There are a few tips I learned when planning a Christmas wedding while sticking to a strict budget. Most decors will include Christmas trees with beautiful lights, as well as wreaths, ribbons and candles. For added personal touches, you may have things around your house or that you could borrow from friends and family that you could incorporate along with the venues decorations.

Having a Christmas wedding allows you the opportunity to utilize decorations you, and your family or friends may have around the house, such as white strands of lights to be used around the wedding venue, wreaths to adorn church pews or reception tables, candles and even fresh greens cut from Christmas trees that could also be used. A great way to pull together wreaths that are not matching is to add a matching ribbon to each. Christmas ornaments are also a way to add some beautiful textures and colors to a table or Christmas tree.

If you would like to incorporate flowers to your venue, a great choice would be Poinsettias. They are in season during Christmas and readily available. Poinsettias are a beautiful red flowered plant, and would be an inexpensive alternative for a fresh splash of color.

Planning your wedding at a time where etiquette allows you to avoid serving quests a complete meal can save a lot of money. An early afternoon wedding would allow for serving delicious festive cookies, candies and cakes, along with hot cocoa or apple cider for a tasty addition to your ceremony. This would allow you to add your own touches if you baked them yourself or you could pick them up from a local bakery, either way saving a lot of money.

Christmas season is one of the most festive, vibrant times of the year, with sparkling lights, fresh greenery and baking smells, and bright beautiful colors. Planning a Christmas wedding when most venues are already beautifully adorned with greenery, lights and colors is a great money and time saving idea.

Destination Weddings ? How They Can Actually Save You Money

In planning our weddings, many of us are trying to find ways to save money. We do not necessarily do it to make it a ‘cheap’ or ‘unmemorable’ wedding, but rather to spend money where it may matter more. That could be a dress, food or drinks, entertainment, etc. Or, this could become an extra budget for the honeymoon. Consider a destination wedding as an alternative. Here is how this option can save you money:

A destination wedding allows you to trim your guest list by only inviting close family and friends. There will not be an obligation to invite all your distant cousins or friends or for guests to feel that they need to attend if your wedding took place somewhere far and not local. Trimming down the guest list will save you on catering and decorating costs. Just envision how much more you can get more for your dollar and have an extraordinary lavish wedding if there were 40 guests versus 300. Destination weddings that are held at exotic locals such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Puerto Rico offer all-inclusive options along with inexpensive lodging. These all-inclusive options will allow hassle free wedding planning and provide you with time to explore local attractions with your family and friends. Locations closer to home, such as Las Vegas and Hawaii, remain favorite spots to tie the knot. Choose to travel to your choice destination off season or during shoulder season. The difference with peak season can be substantial, so make sure to do your research before you pick your wedding date. Consider getting married midweek because Saturdays are always in high demand and thus most expensive. Check with the venues and vendors. One of the biggest areas of cost savings is the decoration. Imagine with a backdrop of the ocean, garden or rain forest there is not much need for decorations in a destination wedding. For the reception a few elegant flowers in a vase, or floating blooms, instead of center pieces will save you on the cost of flowers.

Destination wedding could be a good economic alternative if you plan it right and believe it is suitable for you, your family and friends.

Save the planet…I mean Wedding

Reduce, Re-use, Recycle

We’ve all heard this phrase from the time we were in elementary school. Usually, it applies to our daily grind- trying to limit the amount of paper we use, rinsing out jars and using them for other things, and of course putting anything we possibly can into the recycling bin. So how does this apply to weddings?

Well, I should first admit that this has nothing to do with saving the planet– but it does have to do with saving you and your family a ton of cash. Why not use some of the resources already available to you for the wedding ceremony and reception instead of purchasing more than you have to?

Not only should you be thinking about items you or your family have lying around the house, but also items that can be transported from the ceremony to the reception. Here are some basic ideas to help you cut back:

1) Centerpieces
These days, centerpieces can be anything the mind can possibly conjure. You don’t need to have a traditional vase with roses in it. People come up with the most unique, creative and fun centerpieces that really blow the traditional ones out of the water. Not every table needs to be the same, either. So think about collecting a variety of vases from your house, your friends’ houses and your family’s house. I think it looks really cool to have some tall vases, some short, some wide, some narrow, etc. See what you can find. When you fill them, think of things that you don’t have to buy. For example, you or your loved ones may have really cool greenery in the yard that can create a gorgeous natural piece that looks really whimsical and romantic. You could also collect some sand from a nearby beach to fill the vases with. One of the most obvious free centerpiece accents is water. Filling a vase with water and some floating flowers/candles can look really cool and eclectic- you might consider getting food coloring in your theme colors and dying the water. The sky is the limit!

2) Bouquets
So let’s say you have 4 bridesmaids. There are 5 bouquets, including your own, that you girls are going to throw under the table as soon as the festivities get started. Why not leave the head table unadorned until you all get there? Have the vases filled with water and ready to go; then when the bridal party arrives, you all can put your beautiful bouquets in the vases and you’ve got your head table decor taken care of.

3) Accessories
Don’t forget the beauty of the expression “Something borrowed”. If your family and friends have gorgeous earrings, necklace, bracelet, hair pieces/ accessories, ask to borrow them! You don’t need to buy $500 worth of jewelry for one day of wear.

4) Rentals
If you need to rent tables, chairs, etc for your wedding, consider having your rehearsal dinner with these items. The rentals will most likely be dropped off and set up 2-3 days in advance, so make use of the time you have them! You can most likely have the rehearsal dinner catered for less than going to a nice restaurant.

5) Entertainment
Do your family members or friends have special talents? Use them! If a friend is a good singer, ask her to sing for your ceremony or reception. If your little cousins Irish dance, ask them to perform for the crowd. If your wedding party is a bunch of jokesters, put together a surprise dance/ skit to perform. You and your loved ones can probably entertain your guests much better than a stranger could and have a lot of fun with it.

I got married in 2008 on a budget and had so much fun/frustration with it that I decided to start my own wedding planning blog and website for people trying to create an affordable wedding. There are so many things you can do to cut your wedding costs without sacrificing quality. I look forward to sharing ideas with you.

Top Ten Ways to Save Money on Your Wedding

Few of us have bottomless wallets when it comes to paying for a wedding.  When you are trying to stick to a strict budget for your wedding, it helps to think about the big picture. You need to allot enough money for the things which matter the most to you. Cut corners and trim the budget on all the extra, less important items. The top ten items ways to say money on your wedding is as follows:

1. Avoid Saturday. By choosing an off day, you will avoid paying a premium for services. You might also be able to afford your dream photographer, ideal wedding location or perfect caterer because of your wedding date choice.

2. Trim your guest list by moving your wedding elsewhere (such as a destination wedding.) Or politely explain the wedding is only for close family.

3. Repurpose items in your wedding.  Have your bridesmaid’s place their bouquets on the reception tables as centerpieces or order mini wedding cakes, allowing the confections to act as both a centerpiece and dessert.

4. Go online for everything from RSVPs to bargain shopping. There are many cost saving applications and purchases to be found online. It only requires time.

5. Call in favors from friends and family. Ask if any of them are calligraphers, DJs, aspiring photographers or florists.

6. Remove the fat from your food choices.  Instead of offering hors d’oeuvres, a sit down meal and an open bar, schedule your wedding between meals. Offer only cake and drinks. Or lighten up on the food, eliminating some of the higher priced items.

7. Turn down the music by forgoing the traditional wedding band or DJ. Create your own wedding soundtrack by choosing music together and burning it on a CD.

8. DIY is for YOU! Creating your own wedding invitations, wedding favors or wedding programs is a simple way to save a lot of money. With today’s high quality DIY kits, all you need is a quality printer and time to create a professional looking piece.

9. Borrow traditionally rented items. Consider using family heirlooms such as candlesticks, wedding accessories or serving ware instead of renting or buying. It also adds a nice personal touch.

10. Elope! The easiest way to save a lot of money on your wedding is to elope. You can still throw a killer party, letting your friends and family celebrate with you but you avoid over  half of the fees related to a formal wedding.

The key to saving money on your wedding is to choose to forgo items which aren’t important to you in the long run. Decide on what you can’t live without and scrutinize everything else in order to save money on your wedding.

How to Save Money by Purchasing Discount Wedding Favors

You shop at Costco for bulk groceries, so why wouldn’t you also want to save money with wholesale wedding favors? You don’t have to spend inordinate sums of money on expensive items in a local craft store or bridal bouquet. Instead, you can buy your favors wholesale and keep that money for other things like your photographer, DJ or flowers.

For hot wedding favor ideas that you can do with low cost products, read on.

Sugared Almonds

Tradition dictates that each wedding guest receive five sugared almonds encased in either a small box or wrapped in a pretty fabric. The almonds symbolize both the bitter sweetness nature of marriage, but also are a sign of health, happiness and fertility for the couple.

What’s great about this favor is that you can pick up wholesale sugared almonds at most bulk food stores. At $10 or $15 a pound, you will have enough almonds to provide classic favors for every wedding guest. Then, pick up a few yards of tulle and ribbon at a local fabric shop and you have your packaging and wrapping. Simply, wrap five almonds in a small circle of tulle and tie with a ribbon.

Wedding Candles

White candles make great wholesale wedding favors because they can be purchased very inexpensively and easily customized. You should be able to find a box of 50 white candles for as little as $5.00, with most brides spending no more than $10 to $15 to furnish their entire guest list with favors. You can also order votive or fancier candles from a wholesale supplier and still save money.

Of course, you can’t just hand each guest a plain candle, but you can easily customize them all. Start by writing your name and marriage date on a small piece of paper or ribbon and then wrapping each candle with your customized band. Alternatively, you can use ribbon to attach a small note that thanks your guests for attending your marriage ceremony.

Bottle Your Own

Bottling your own wedding favors is a great way to embrace a local product and saving money. A Georgia couple may want to hand out peach preserves while a Vermont couple might bottle their own maple syrup.

A simple online search for “wholesale bottles” will yield hundreds of results which can then be narrowed down to wholesalers in your area. Purchasing a hundred wholesale bottles at less than $0.50 per bottle and filling them yourself is much cheaper than paying for pre-made favors from a local bridal retailer.

In short, before you spend for pre-made wedding favors from any retailer, remember that you’ll be buying in bulk and could save hundreds of dollars by either purchasing wholesale wedding favors or wholesale products that could be easily converted into wedding favors.

Your wedding plans are already going to cost you plenty of money. So why not take the opportunity to preserve some of those funds by doing a little of the wedding preparation work yourself and use the savings for something more enjoyable – like your honeymoon.

Save Some Money: Make Your Own Wedding Favors

Not only is it a nice touch, but if you have time to make your own simple wedding favors, you can save money that you desperately need for flowers, food, or your honeymoon.

A great wedding favor to make yourself is molded chocolate. With options from lollipops to delicate multicolored shells, dark chocolate to white chocolates you can dye to match your wedding colors, these edible favors are a winner for every age.

To make your own chocolate wedding favors, follow these steps:

Chocolate Wedding Favors

1. Equipment:

Microwave or double boiler to melt chocolates

Plastic bowls and spoons

Candy molds – plastic or coated metal are fine, but nonstick is critical

Small cellophane bags

Small squeeze bottle

Plastic gloves designed for handling food

Candy thermometer

2. Ingredients:

Molding chocolate like Merckens Chocolate or Wilton Candy Melts. For best results, buy this at a specialty cooking store and ask the store clerk to help you determine how much to purchase.

Lollipop sticks

Luster dust, or pearl dust, to add shimmer to your chocolate

Small paint brush (for the luster dust)

Oil-based flavorings

Decorative ribbons or other decorations to impress in the chocolate

3. Steps:

Select your molds. Melt the chocolates in a double boiler or microwave (the double boiler is better because of a consistent melt, but you will need to keep an eye on it.) Water goes in the outer pot, the chocolate sits in the inner. Try not to bring the water to a boil, and do not let any water mix with your chocolate. Stir chocolate until it is melted.

In the double boiler method, you can melt about two pounds of chocolate at a time.

When using the microwave method, melt a half-pound at a time. Place in microwave at about 600 watts for 1 minute, then stir. Return to microwave for 15 seconds at a time until completely melted.

If you want to add a flavor, do it now; no more than 20-25 drops per pound should work.

Next, fill a squeeze bottle with chocolate. Squeeze chocolate into each mold crevice carefully to eradicate air bubbles. Tap mold on counter to eliminate remaining air bubbles; pop the stubborn ones with a toothpick. Fill molds to the top, and insert lollipop stick if you wish. Place mold in freezer for about five minutes, or until the chocolate pulls away from the mold. Remove favors from mold and place on a sheet of wax paper to rest; make sure none of them touch the others.

4. Decorating Your Wedding Chocolates:

Shimmer can be added by coating your chocolates with luster dust. Dip a brush in water or another clear liquid, then in the dust. Brush powder on for a solid-looking shimmer. Put chocolates in cellophane bags and close by tying with a pretty ribbon. These ribbons can be personalized with name and wedding date, and you can even find miniature roses at many home décor stores to slip into the ribbon.

5. Cost:

The more chocolates you make with the same molds, the lower the cost per chocolate goes. In general, you can make about a hundred chocolates for $30. Larger molds and more elaborate decorations can make costs rise to $1 per chocolate.

Save money on your wedding day – How?

Are you short on money at the moment? You wish to have a cheap weeding party?

Here are some ideas for your unique cheap wedding party:

1. Find a nice big room in your location for hire. Sometimes bars and restaurants are offering their locations for private functions. You will find also Community halls for hire, which normally belong to the council or to a club or church. Occasionally you can hire it for a small donation only.

You will be surprised that you will find everything you need at this locations: tables, chairs, a bar and kitchen, bathroom and toilette’s. (First big saving)

Make sure that the location allows music and it should be not restricted on time. Please be aware, that no neighbors will be disturbed, when your party is going on late. Best places are outside of the living areas.

2. Get your friends involved in your wedding party planning. Very often they have already some experience in weddings and special skills, so they can help you with the work and also contacts, which can help borrow other items you might need.

May be you have a friend, who is a chef or at least a hobby cook and the are willing to cook the dinner for your wedding. You may only need to buy the ingredients and this may count as a gift from them. Other friends might be helping you during the party, because they could experience in serving people or they are just talented and want to help you out.

Make a plan and the people, which are helping at the wedding party, so they are able to enjoy your party, too. Ask your friends, how to get a cheap music band, entertainer or sound system.

May be someone knows, someone who is not a professional, but it is his hobby or he wants’ to play records/CD’s and entertain the group. (Second big saving)

3. When you do not want to ask your mats for help another idea of a cheap wedding is: Hire a bar or restaurant for private function and let your friends pay the bill for drinks and food.

It is not so funny and you still have to look for a band or DJ, who is entertaining your guests, but it is a cheap wedding idea.

4. Another suggestion for cheap wedding party is:

Invite your friends and tell them to bring something to eat or drink. (Instead or additional to the wedding gift). Make a plan. Tell your friends what they should bring with: drinks, something to eat, fun and themselves. Look out for a big BBQ.

Without a plan you will have plenty of beer and other drinks, but no steaks. Make a plan. It is necessary.

If you want to save also the hire costs of a room, use your garden, your neighbors’ garden, a public park, or do it on the beach. (Best savings)

If you are not feeling comfortable with my cheap wedding ideas and the big savings, ask your Dad to sponsor your wedding party or wait till later to get married.

Save some money, it will be a good test of the relationship and could help you to learn more about your partner and how he/she deals with money. This could be valuable.

You can have a very good cheap wedding, but it takes a lot of thinking and preparation to make all the parts work together and is much better than starting of a marriage in debt, which creates unneeded stress from the start. You don’t need that starting your married life together.

Wedding Favors – How To Save On Your Budget

Your wedding budget will be the deciding factor on the kind of wedding favors you want to give your guests. This is important as you are probably intending on giving at least one favor to each couple or each guest. Irrespective of how you are distributing it, if you are going to have a lot of guests, it will have a strong impact on the amount of money you can spend on the favors. If only a few guests are going to attend your wedding, then you ca splurge on expensive favors. If, however, a large number of people are going to attend, and you have only a limited budget, searching for cheaper wedding favors are a better option.

One of the easiest and simplest things you can give as a wedding favor is a candle. Simple candles are available easily and they come at extremely affordable prices, you can even purchase personalized ribbons and tie pretty little bows around the candle. Usually, these ribbons can be ordered and include your wedding date and names. Although it sounds like an expensive item, it is really affordable if you just purchase a reel of the ribbons instead of precut ones. You can place a taper candle with a personalized ribbon at each place so that you have your very own inexpensive wedding favor.

Another great idea for a cheap wedding favor is candy. There are different ways in which you can give out candy and still stay within your budget. One way is purchasing ribbons and some nice fabric and cutting small squares out of the fabric, put candy into the squares and tie the corners together with some ribbons. This is neither expensive nor difficult. This wedding favor can be assembled even at the last minute. Another way in which you can give candy as a wedding favor is by purchasing little tins and filling them up with candy. You can cut down on costs by purchasing candy in bulk and then separating the candy into each tin for each guest. Another idea for giving candy as a favor is by buying candy bars that have personalized wrappers. The wrappers can have your wedding date, names and pictures of you both. This is not at all expensive if you order in bulk and use only one design for each wrapper.

Packets of vegetable seed or flowers also make terrific wedding favors that are easy on your budget. You can stack different kinds of seeds and tie up the stacks with some ribbons to create a presentation that is attractive as well as inexpensive. Putting the flowers or seeds into a small pot is another way of giving these as wedding favors. It is not necessary for the pot to accommodate the growth of the seed or flower as it only symbolic and so it can be small. It only needs to hold the different seeds or flowers. Furthermore, larger pots will work out costlier than purchasing smaller pots.

A pen with your names inscribed on it is another great gift to give as a wedding favor. Your names as well as your wedding date can be inscribed on the pens. You can purchase these for a very cheap rate and can pair them with some stationary as well as a note that encourages the guests to keep in touch. Furthermore giving this with a note for the guests to keep in touch lets them know that you value them and want to be in contact with them.

Inexpensive Wedding Ideas – Tips to Save on Your Big Day

In reality, no one would really dare to have a ”cheap” wedding. However, there are many smart brides who plan on spending their wedding budget wisely on essential details that matter most to them and their loved ones. You’ve dreamed for a perfect wedding day on your entire life, but how long have you been saving money for that special moment of your life? You might think of possible ways on how to save on your wedding day, while still having an all-time dreamed wedding celebration. Below are some helpful tips for you.

Choose to have an off date or time. You may consider having your wedding day on a Friday night or on a Sunday brunch. Or perhaps, set it on a Thursday night or Saturday afternoon. Religious obligations may steer at some point, but moving away from a Saturday evening affair will give you extra money to splurge for an amazing honeymoon.

Choose and off month. Many are wishing of becoming a June bride, but becoming a January through March bride can save a lot of your wedding budget. Take full advantage of having an off wedding month for many vendors, including caterers and musicians, usually charge cheaper rates. If you still want to have a Saturday night wedding, make sure to do it indoor. Consider a Winter Wonderland!

Consider a location that comes with almost everything. Great options include using a raw space, or using your own backyard. These options will save you a lot of dollars than renting a golf court or other playing field. Having one from the two options had already set you apart, now all you need to consider next are your tents, tables, chairs, linens, etc.

Tailor your menu. Having a buffet will not always be less expensive. There may be less staff involved, however a buffet has always a lot of food to serve, thus it will increase the the catering’s price as well as the cost that you will have to pay. An elegant seated luncheon or dinner of appetizer, salad, entrée and wedding cake will be plenty. If you have a sweet tooth – skip the salad and opt for an extra dessert. You don’t have to make your cocktail extravagant, instead keep it simple. You guests will not requests a meal before a meal. An hors d’ouevres filled cocktail hour will be elegant and more than enough!

Since your wedding include something borrowed, you may always ask to borrow some of your bridal accessories from a friend or a sister. Or, if you have the skill to make your own wedding veil, then it would a great advantage. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars just for a wedding gear that you, most likely, will not wear it again.

Save a buck by giving affordable wedding favors and gifts. There are many cheap wedding favors available in many online stores. Shopping online is one of the most less expensive shopping option especially for those who have tight budget. You may also consider giving inexpensive bridesmaids gifts to your bridesmaids, as well as discount groomsmen gifts to your groomsmen.

Save Money on Your Wedding by Buying Wedding Favors

How in the world can we say that you would actually save money on your wedding by buying wedding favors?  It’s actually rather simple – you save money overall if you use those favors as not just gifts to give away to your guests but as a way to round out your decorations or even take the place of certain decorations such as your centerpieces.

Here’s how this works.  When your guests arrive at your reception you want them to be greeted with a beautiful layout and this includes the individual tables.  Most brides choose very expensive centerpieces for each table but your wedding favors can actually do double duty here.  When you purchase your favors, be sure to wrap them in festive wrapping paper or something that matches your reception’s décor and then stack them in a nice arrangement at each table.  Remember that you don’t want to just pile them up but arrange everything neatly.

You can also use your wedding favors as decoration at each table by putting them in the middle of the top plate if you’re having a plated dinner, or put them at the place setting the same way you would the wine glasses.  If your tables are not going to be set when guests arrive such as for a buffet meal, arrange the wedding favors in front of each chair the way you would when setting a table.  By using your wedding favors this way you are making your table look very festive so you don’t need to spend extra on your centerpieces.

Dressing up your wedding favors is important when using them this way.  For those in boxes you can definitely use that nice wrapping paper and make them even more special by tying them with long ribbon that you gently drape over the table.  You can use ribbon for wedding favors that you don’t wrap such as for candles.  And to go the extra mile you can use something special for the ribbon such as strings of crystal beads, fabric trim, lace, or even tassels.  You can take your time to browse a sewing supply store, craft supply store, or even a scrapbooking supplier to find just the right material to make your favors really stand out.

Another way to use wedding favors to dress up your table is to sprinkle the tables with flowers petals or confetti and then set up your favors.  This way your table looks very festive but you’re saving money on decorations and centerpieces; flower petals or confetti is almost always going to be more affordable than centerpieces!

Remember that your guests are very happy to be at your wedding and are happy for you, but they still needed to get dressed up, have purchased a gift, and are there for you and your big day.  Purchasing wedding favors is your way of thanking them for being there for you and helping to make your day even more special.  While everyone is concerned about their budget today, you want to reconsider any impulse to forego wedding favors altogether and instead get as much life out of them as you can by having them help to fill out your decorations and the look and feel of your venue.
